Hey everyone, I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The median home value here is around $195,100, which is actually reasonable. Household incomes average around $45,083 in Ringgold. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I overthinking this?

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is solid.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to Denver it's tough.

I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The dating scene is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if public transit matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 13 years here, that's my honest assessment.
