I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $434,800 on average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value walkability, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely solid and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

My experience has been mostly positive. it exceeded my expectations. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I work in real estate here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is tough. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
