With a population of 15,258, Rio Grande City is a small town. Poverty rate is 30.5%, which is higher than I expected. Rent is about $742/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $113,400 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The weather takes some getting used to. What do you all think? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.
