Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and With a population of 16,117, Ripon is a small town. The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What would you do? Cheers. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The nightlife scene is solid
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

- Good schools in most areas
- The school system scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
