Hello, You can expect to pay around $797 for rent here. Median household income is $54,821, which feels on the lower side for the area. The median home value here is around $141,500, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Is this normal for Rising Sun? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in tech. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Southern.

No regrets on my end..
