Alright, Been living here since 2009. Crime rate is something to consider -River Forest sits at 110.4 per 100K. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Homes are going for about $676,900 on average. With a population of 11,489, River Forest is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
