Life in River Forest as a young professional

Alright, I'm a college student here and Homes are going for about $676,900 on average. Rent is about $1,411/month for a decent place. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Thanks in advance! The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Lakewood. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally decent. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
