Is River Ridge worth moving to in 2026?

Hello, I'm a 43-year-old accountant and Median household income is $86,786, which feels pretty solid for the area. Rent is about $2,058/month for a decent place. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Austin about 1 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is pretty good.

Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Chicago about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in East area are tough. Kids love it here.
