River Road vs Tampa -which is better?
OK so I'm retired and Homes are going for about $360,400 on average. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Low crime in most areas
- Easy commute
- Walkable downtown
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
Worth the trade-offs? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
