OK so I've been here for 4 years and Homes are going for about $160,000 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -Riverdale sits at 442.1 per 100K. With a population of 14,866, Riverdale is a small town. Median household income is $62,627, which feels about average for the area. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

We moved here with our family and it's not perfect but it works for me. Schools in Fairview area are excellent. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is underrated in most areas.

Came here for weather and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The job market is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'm a electrician and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 6 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely challenging and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Eastside) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Minneapolis, be prepared for the culture shock. community vibe is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
