Riverside is underrated, change my mind

Not sure if this has been asked before, but The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $88,575 in Riverside. Crime rate is something to consider — Riverside sits at 505.9 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Diverse community
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Rising rent prices
- Limited nightlife
- Poor road conditions
Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Midtown for 10 years. Moved from San Francisco for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2015 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are pricey for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have national forests within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Midtown schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Not very walkable outside downtown. Limited shopping options. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For young professionals, I'd say this is a 7/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is walkability. Other than that, Feel free to reach out with questions..
