We're a young couple and You can expect to pay around $1,826 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 6 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is excellent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Greenfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Bought a house here in 2019 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Tampa about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are manageable, gas is challenging.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Definitely worth checking out..
