Considering Riverton vs Kansas City -help me decide

I'm originally from Chicago and Crime rate is something to consider -Riverton sits at 77.9 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,826 for rent here. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs?

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much pricey but now it's tough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Lakewood. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in education. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
