Hi all, The median home value here is around $543,900, which is pretty steep. It's a a smaller city city with about 44,944 people. You can expect to pay around $1,826 for rent here. Poverty rate is 2.8%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Am I wrong here? Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Public transit is better than expected here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Meadowbrook area are improving. Kids love it here.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Springfield. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.
Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in government you might struggle.
People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like Southern.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
