Hey everyone, I've been here for 10 years and The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Riverview sits at 582.4 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I have mixed feelings honestly. Compared to New York it's solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely tough and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (The Heights) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Used to live on the Midtown side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. it was the best decision I ever made.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Happy to answer more specific questions..
