Planning a move to Riverview -neighborhoods?

Hey everyone, I grew up here but left for a while. Household incomes average around $95,442 in Riverview. It's a a mid-size city city with about 108K people. Crime rate is something to consider -Riverview sits at 582.4 per 100K. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Am I wrong here? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 5 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

I work in tech here and it's exactly what I was looking for. The job market for my field is underrated. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Cedar Grove side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
