Rent prices in Riverview getting crazy

Anyone else noticing rent going up fast in Riverview? Over the last year, I feel like prices went up at least 10-15%. I'm paying $1890 for a 2BR which feels like a lot.

Are there any neighborhoods that are still affordable? Thinking about moving to a cheaper area.

Respectfully disagree about the cost of living assessment. In my experience, there are good opportunities if you network.

Great post! One thing I'd mention is drive around neighborhoods at different times before committing. Makes a big difference.

My kids love it here. So many parks and activities. So many outdoor activities.

I'd add that the parks here are amazing for families. Otherwise spot on!

The job market has been improving lately. Several manufacturing companies moved in recently.

Been here 20 years. The city has changed a lot but overall for the better.

Public transit needs work but they're investing in it. Should improve in next few years.

Downtown is overrated and overpriced. The suburbs offer way better value.

I work in education and finding a job wasn't hard. Took about 4 months.

Check out the Eastside area. Way more affordable and still close to everything.

Can confirm the safety issue. But it really depends on the neighborhood. Old Town and Highland Park are perfectly safe.

If you can afford it, Downtown is the best place to live. Period.

Don't sleep on Eastside. It's up and coming and still affordable.
