Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Compared to Phoenix it's hit or miss.

I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Minneapolis about 14 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Good airport with direct flights
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are reasonable, gas is tough.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Hope this helps!.
