Riviera Beach quality of life -am I missing something?

Alright, I'm a 39-year-old contractor and Poverty rate is 13.1%, which is around average. The unemployment rate is 5.3%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $1,489 for rent here. Household incomes average around $62,152 in Riviera Beach. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Is this normal for Riviera Beach? The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Fairview. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Dallas about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
