Hey folks, I've been here for 11 years and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Worth the trade-offs? Cheers. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Dallas about 2 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2024 and it's not perfect but it works for me. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
