Longtime lurker here, Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. You can expect to pay around $589 for rent here. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Am I wrong here?

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are challenging, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Riverside area are underrated. Kids love it here.

Hot take but there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a nurse who relocated here from LA about 7 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. Definitely worth checking out..
