Raising a family in Robertsville -thoughts?

Random thought, I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 4.1%, which is pretty low. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up.

I'm a marketing manager and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is pretty good and there's always something going on.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is tough in most areas.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely solid and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Old Town) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
