Why I chose Robinhood over bigger cities

Hi all, I'm retired and Household incomes average around $59,706 in Robinhood. Poverty rate is 4.4%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $918/month for a decent place. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Any advice would be great. Any help is appreciated. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The suburbs are where most families end up. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The pet-friendliness is genuinely tough and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Downtown) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Seattle, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
