Best restaurants in Rochester Hills?

Curious what people think. It's a a smaller city city with about 76,086 people. The median home value here is around $377,400, which seems about average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from New York about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in North for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Chicago, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong job market in several industries
- The job market scene is pretty good

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if healthcare matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I work in construction here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is solid. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
