Hey folks, I've been here for 17 years and The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Does this match your experience? The city has invested a lot in new development.

Came here for school and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The cultural scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Raleigh about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Four distinct seasons
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Urban sprawl is real
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..
