Commute times in Rochester — how bad?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider — Rochester sits at 214.8 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 2.7%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What are your go-to spots? The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 12 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Nice parks and green spaces

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited entertainment options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is excellent.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
