Top 5 things I love about Rochester

The unemployment rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 5.6%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $79,388, which feels about average for the area. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Friendly people
- Easy commute
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Hot summers
- Cold winters
- Homelessness issues downtown
Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to LA it's excellent.
