So, It's a a mid-size city city with about 210K people. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. What do you all think? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

I've been living here for 6 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The food scene is decent compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value traffic, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Greenfield) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. public transit is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is school system. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 10 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..
