Curious what people think. I'm a teacher here and The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this?

My experience has been mostly positive. I have mixed feelings honestly. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Lakewood. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.
No regrets on my end..

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it exceeded my expectations. The pet-friendliness is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.
