Best areas to explore in Rockingham?
Anyone else feel this way? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is pretty good in most areas.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Meadowbrook area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The cost of living is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 9 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is weather. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Denver about 14 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are stable, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..
