Anyone else love living in Rockport?

Hey everyone, Homes are going for about $288,600 on average. With a population of 10,449, Rockport is a small town. Rent is about $1,306/month for a decent place. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Nice parks and trails
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Limited dining options
- High property taxes
Would love some local perspective. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a real estate agent, 30, moved here 1 years ago from Portland. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Oak Park, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Property taxes are high
3. The walkability situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for retirees. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Oak Park: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Portland, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are developing. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $70K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want pet-friendliness, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Midtown. It's underrated for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in finance. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The community vibe scene is solid

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
