Hi all, The median home value here is around $288,600, which seems about average. Median household income is $63,303, which feels about average for the area. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. Has anyone dealt with this?

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Cedar Grove. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Definitely worth checking out..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.
I've been here 15 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
