Studio apartments in Rockport -options?

So, The unemployment rate is 3.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Rockport sits at 239.5 per 100K. Median household income is $63,303, which feels about average for the area. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Is this normal for Rockport? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I've lived in South for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The public transit scene is average

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Rising rent and home prices

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Good luck with whatever you decide..

The food scene here is solid. Tons of great Vietnamese places. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a data analyst, 35, moved here 3 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Lots of new development happening
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Traffic during rush hour is rough
2. Rising rent and home prices
3. The school system situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt solid. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $80K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Happy to answer more specific questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Fairview) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Miami, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
