Anyone work in healthcare in Rockville?

Been meaning to ask this. Homes are going for about $97,800 on average. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What neighborhoods would you suggest? The suburbs are where most families end up.

Came here for work and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community vibe is honestly pretty good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 46, moved here 9 years ago from Baltimore. I've lived in Uptown and Downtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Dating scene is rough
3. The cost of living situation is manageable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Downtown: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Baltimore, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Boston it's underrated.
