Relocating to Rockwall, TX -pros and cons?

Crime rate is something to consider -Rockwall sits at 108.5 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $1,832 for rent here. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
