Anyone work in healthcare in Rocky Mount?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I relocated for work and With a population of 54,175, Rocky Mount is a smaller city. Household incomes average around $52,927 in Rocky Mount. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I've lived in Old Town for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
- The public transit scene is average

The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. No regrets on my end..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 8 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's established and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Oak Park side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
