Thinking about relocating to Rocky River from Houston

Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $93,956 in Rocky River. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $1,155/month for a decent place. Median household income is $93,956, which feels pretty solid for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value outdoor recreation, you'll love it. The weather is genuinely challenging and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Downtown) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Diego, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
