Been meaning to ask this. Poverty rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Houston about 12 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Happy to answer more specific questions..
