Hey everyone, I'm a teacher here and It's a a smaller city city with about 44,461 people. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 6.4%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Is this normal for Rohnert Park? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Close to major attractions
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited public transit options
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is better than expected.
Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a pharmacist and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is solid and there's always something going on.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I work in tech here and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market for my field is tough. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
