Random thought, We're a young couple and Crime rate is something to consider -Rohnert Park sits at 605.0 per 100K. Median household income is $96,635, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a smaller city city with about 44,461 people. Rent is about $2,211/month for a decent place. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in Old Town for about 12 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Dallas, I was surprised by safety. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The job market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Rising rent and home prices
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..
