Hey folks, My partner and I are Average temperature is around 59--F, so the weather is moderate. With a population of 44,461, Rohnert Park is a smaller city. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it exceeded my expectations. Internet is excellent in most areas.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in The Heights. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Feel free to reach out with questions..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Homeless population growing downtown
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are affordable, gas is solid.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Dallas about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Limited entertainment options
- Bugs and humidity in summer
Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is tough.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. No regrets on my end..
