Why I chose Rolla over bigger cities

My family moved here when I was a kid. Median household income is $42,518, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 10.6%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $42,518 in Rolla. The city has invested a lot in new development. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? TIA! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

I've lived in North for about 4 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Good internet infrastructure
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Feel free to reach out with questions..
