So, I'm a remote worker and The median home value here is around $87,700, which is actually reasonable. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. What would you do? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Miami about 5 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good schools in most areas
- Good internet infrastructure
Cons that are real:
- Urban sprawl is real
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is tough.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Hope this helps!.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's exactly what I was looking for. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in hospitality here and it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market for my field is surprisingly good. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. walkability used to be much manageable but now it's improving.
