Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. It's a a small town city with about 11,543 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Has anyone dealt with this? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Greenfield. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in tech. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a chef who relocated here from San Francisco about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
