Job hunting in Rome -tips?

Longtime lurker here, Been living here since 2013. Crime rate is something to consider -Rome sits at 168.7 per 100K. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $871/month for a decent place. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Property taxes are high but you get good services. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Appreciate any input. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to San Francisco it's solid.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a accountant who relocated here from New York about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and work.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Active local events and festivals
- Close to major attractions

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options

Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..
