Rome quality of life -am I missing something?

Just moved here 8 months ago and The median home value here is around $137,200, which is actually reasonable. Rent is about $871/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a smaller city city with about 31,795 people. Crime rate is something to consider -Rome sits at 168.7 per 100K. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events

Cons:
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Phoenix and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Definitely worth checking out..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is challenging in most areas.
