I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is dating scene. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 1 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
