Is Roosevelt good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Median household income is $135,158, which feels pretty solid for the area. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Should I be concerned? The suburbs are where most families end up. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it exceeded my expectations. Compared to Austin it's excellent.

I've lived in Highland for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Diverse dining options
- The outdoor recreation scene is average

The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Highland. It's pretty good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in government. If you're in tech you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
