Roosevelt vs New York -which is better?

Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $454,100, which is pretty steep. Rent is about $2,579/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Pros:
- Affordable cost of living
- Nice parks and trails
- Close to nature
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options

Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Far from major airports
- Not enough green space
TIA! The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely better than expected and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Westside) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Came here for school and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The walkability is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is excellent and there's always something going on.
