The median home value here is around $265,300, which seems about average. Household incomes average around $72,664 in Roosevelt. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Atlanta about 3 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it decent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are affordable, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a real estate agent, 58, moved here 11 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in West and Midtown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Active local events and festivals
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- West: Great for families. underrated vibes, walkable.
- Midtown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt improving. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$150K here.
**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The job market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Public transit is hit or miss here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

I'm a software engineer and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. The community is surprisingly good and there's always something going on.
